Registration conference ‘Doing justice, loving mercy’ is open!
July 25-27, 2025, Kairos-Sabeel Nederland is organising a conference on Palestinian Liberation Theology in the Netherlands. The goal of the conference is to invite Western Christians to learn about Palestinian theology and to start standing in solidarity with Palestinians. Their call for justice and peace will resound on this conference, in the voices of a big number of Palestinian theologians. We will also bring it to our own context, and reflect on our own historic involvement and our own theologies.
Palestinian theology and European solidarity are the central themes of the conference Doing Justice, Loving Mercy, organised by Kairos-Sabeel Netherlands and Bethlehem Bible College. We would like to invite conference participants to join Palestinian theologians and us in reflecting on how we can show solidarity with Palestinians in a way that focuses on justice.
The programme (see below) includes plenary sessions with internationally renowned speakers, workshops and panel discussions. There will also be room for reflection, repentance and liturgy during the conference. In terms of content, we are inspired by liberation theology, international law, decolonial theology and forms of non-violent creative action based on the gospel. We also focus on our individual involvement: how can we as Western Christians relate to Palestinian liberation theology and how can we contribute to justice and peace in Palestine and Israel? Tickets are on sale! Which ticket suits you best depends on the number of nights (two or three) you want to stay. For people living close enough to Helvoirt, two nights will be the best option. The conference program will start on Friday 12:00, so there will be time in the morning to arrive and settle.
There is a standard rate, but we invite you, if you have the means, to support us extra by buying a support ticket. This also makes it possible to support others, who are less financially well-off, with a ticket at a tailor-made price (budget ticket). Please note that after you bought the tickets, you will need to fill in a form to collect additional information. You will receive this via email.

Van 25 tot 27 juli organiseert Kairos-Sabeel Nederland een conferentie over Palestijnse bevrijdingstheologie in Nederland. Het doel van de conferentie is om Westerse christenen uit te nodigen om te leren over Palestijnse bevrijdingstheologie en om hen uit te nodigen in solidariteit te staan met Palestijnen. Hun roep om rechtvaardigheid en vrede zal klinken tijdens deze conferentie, vertolkt door een aantal Palestijnse theologen. Palestijnse theologie wordt tijdens deze conferentie naar onze eigen context gebracht; we reflecteren op onze eigen historische betrokkenheid en onze theologieën.

Palestijnse theologie en Europese solidariteit zijn de centrale thema’s van de conferentie Doing Justice, Loving Mercy, georganiseerd door Kairos-Sabeel Nederland en Bethlehem Bible College. Graag nodigen we deelnemers aan de conferentie uit om samen met Palestijnse theologen na te denken over hoe we solidair kunnen zijn met Palestijnen op een manier die gericht is op gerechtigheid.

Ook is er tijdens de conferentie ruimte voor bezinning, inkeer en liturgie. Inhoudelijk laten we ons inspireren door bevrijdingstheologie, internationaal recht, dekoloniale theologie en vormen van geweldloze creatieve actie vanuit het evangelie. We richten ons ook op onze individuele betrokkenheid: hoe kunnen we ons als westerse christenen verhouden tot de Palestijnse bevrijdingstheologie en hoe kunnen we bijdragen aan gerechtigheid en vrede in Palestina en Israël? Tickets zijn te koop! Welk ticket het beste bij je past hangt af van het aantal nachten (twee of drie) dat je wilt blijven. Het programma start op vrijdag om 12:00u, dus in de ochtend is er alle tijd om aan te komen en het jezelf comfortabel te maken. Voor wie het fijner vindt om al de avond tevoren te komen, of voor wie langere reistijd heeft, is er de optie om een ticket voor drie nachten te kopen.
Er is een standaardtarief, maar we nodigen je uit om, als je de middelen hebt, ons extra te steunen door een support ticket te kopen. Dit maakt het ook mogelijk om anderen, die het financieel minder goed hebben, te steunen met een ticket tegen een op maat gemaakte prijs (budget ticket).
